Developmental Disabilities Counsellor Program
A Reena and George Brown College Partnership Program
A semester (4 months) of training and placement working with people with Developmental Disabilities. An opportunity to gain employer required certifications and hands-on work experience. This program will provide varied experiences in the field of social services.
The DDC Program has expanded its Partnership to include the following developmental services agencies: Kerry's Place Autism Services, Montage Support Services, New Leaf: Living and Learning Together Inc., New Visions Toronto, & The Salvation Army Broadview Village
One semester (4 months) of training and placement includes:
- In class study with over 24 content/topic areas
- Practice placements in group home and day program support settings
- 192 hours of paid block placement (earn back your investment)
- Classes are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Placement shifts will vary)
Included in the $1500 tuition fee are all books and courses such as:
- Medication & Pharmacology
- Safe Management (Crisis Intervention) Certification
- Standard First Aid and CPR Certification
- Behaviour Management
- Resume & Interview Preparation

HOW TO APPLY: Please submit an application along with a resume and cover letter. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required. All applications will be considered. Suitable candidates from those who apply will be interviewed. Only 40 applicants will be accepted into the program.
