The Community Inclusion Awards of Excellence recognize outstanding efforts by individuals, organizations and programs within the GTA which result in a more inclusive Jewish community. Can you imagine a world that is easily accessible and barrier-free, one that allows all members of society to fully participate in communal events; one that provides the appropriate assistance to ensure inclusion of people with special needs such as sign language interpreters, visual aids, wheelchair accessible bathrooms and much, much more? Can you imagine a society that is socially inclusive, warm and welcoming, for all people with special needs regardless of whether those disabilities are visible or not?
The Community Inclusion Awards of Excellence is designed to bring the importance of physical and social inclusion to the attention of the community, create a forum for honouring and recognizing those individuals, organizations and programs that have embraced Inclusion as a key principle and core value and have impacted communal change as a result.
