Vision, Values & Mission

Our Vision

That older adults with a developmental disability have the same rights to support and services as all older Ontarians.

Our Values

To maintain Quality of Life through:

1. Quality of Choice.

2. Quality of Access.

3. Creative Options.

4. Individualized Planning.

Our Mission

We will ensure that the general and special needs of persons with a developmental disability who are aging, are identified and addressed effectively to ensure quality of life. We will carry this out through:

1. Service System Improvement

We will support service system improvement by identifying support needs, encouraging innovative pilot programs to respond to these needs, monitoring local initiatives, facilitating information-sharing among local groups, framing policy issues, developing policy proposals in consultation with government and the service system, supporting the establishment of local cross sector projects on aging and developmental disabilities and supporting the evaluation of local projects to identify suitable models and best practices.

2. Communication and Co-operation

We will work with the developmental services and the continuum of seniors supports and services, regulatory agencies, planning bodies, educational institutions, families and the public-at-large to expand the availability of information, training and education pertaining to the needs of older adults with developmental disabilities and to identify service planning requirements.
